O.D. Kobo


O.D. Kobo is a Partner of Shellanoo Group and serves as Chairman of the Executive Board.

An established Internet entrepreneur and businessman, Mr. Kobo's business interests range from Internet to private equity to property, with nearly $1 billion in exits.

Mr. Kobo has over 15 years of experience investing, operating and providing advisory services to technology companies, sovereign funds and high net worth individuals. Prior to joining Shellanoo Group, Mr. Kobo established several China based investment firms, namely KGIM and SinoSheen of which both were partnered with the Prime Minister of Qatar and Baidu (NASDAQ:BIDU). KGIM was acquired in 2010 for $120 million by East River Capital (a subsidiary of the Qatar Investment Authority) and SinoSheen had successfully invested in companies such as Tencent (HKG: 0700) and Netease (NASDAQ:NTES) pre-IPO.  In 2014, Camden Market Holdings (LON:MKT) was acquired for $680 million of which Mr. Kobo was a director and shareholder.

In 2014, Mr. Kobo sold Pheed - a mobile pay-per-view technology to Carlos Slim and América Móvil (NYSE:AMX) for $40 million.

Mr. Kobo has lectured in universities throughout the world and has been featured in international publications including; Forbes, Fast Company, NY Times, Time, CNN, MSNBC, Bloomberg, South China Morning Post, Wall Street Journal, Rolling Stone, China Daily and LA Times. He is regarded an expert in the field of Internet Technology. 

Mr. Kobo is also a Senior Advisory at PIR Equities, an employee owned private equity firm founded in 2008.
Mr. Kobo studied finance at the London School of Economics.
